FitBridge settings guide
Open Settings from the scanner screen's menu. Most options describe you or calibrate a sensor. You can set them before connecting equipment; FitBridge remembers settings between app launches. Device connections and sensor assignments are separate and must be made again each session.
Units
Metric or Imperial
Choose how FitBridge displays measurements and body values. Metric uses units such as kilograms and centimetres; Imperial shows pounds and feet/inches where applicable. Changing units does not change the underlying Bluetooth measurement or the physical machine's own display. Weight is stored in kilograms, so a converted pound value may round by one pound.
Athlete details and heart rate zones
These fields describe the person exercising. The heart rate fields affect FitBridge's zone display; body details can also be used for calorie estimates and by a machine that requests a rider profile.
Weight
Select your weight. FitBridge uses it for calorie estimates and supplies it during Life Fitness setup. The picker follows your selected units.
Height
Select your height in centimetres or, in Imperial mode, with separate feet and inches pickers. FitBridge can supply this value during Life Fitness setup.
Birth month and year
Choose your birth month and year so FitBridge can calculate your current age. The app assumes a birthday in the middle of the selected month because it does not ask for a birth day. Check the age shown below the pickers, especially if you upgraded from an older version that stored age directly. Age can be supplied to machines that request an athlete profile.
Maximum HR
Enter your maximum heart rate in beats per minute. A valid value from 10 to 230 bpm is required before either heart rate zone mode can be selected. Use a value appropriate for you; this setting is used to calculate zones, not to change a connected heart rate monitor.
Resting HR
Enter your resting heart rate if you want Heart Rate Reserve (HRR) zones. It also accepts 10 to 230 bpm. You can leave it blank for Max HR Percent mode.
Heart rate zone mode
- Off: Show heart rate without calculated zones.
- Max HR Percent: Calculate zones as a percentage of your maximum heart rate. Requires Maximum HR.
- HRR Mode: Calculate zones using the difference between maximum and resting heart rate. Requires both values.
If a required heart rate value is missing or invalid, its zone mode is unavailable and FitBridge falls back to Off.
Cycling and elliptical calibration
CSC Wheel Circumference (mm)
Set the distance your cycling sensor's wheel travels in one revolution, in millimetres. FitBridge uses this with cycling speed and cadence (CSC) wheel counts to calculate biking speed and distance. The default is 2405 mm; adjust it until FitBridge's calculated distance agrees with your bike or a measured route. Accepted values are 900–3000 mm. When a CSC based bike session first needs calibration, the app can prompt you to confirm this value before starting.
Elliptical Stride Length (mm)
Set the distance represented by one elliptical stride when FitBridge derives speed and distance from a cadence sensor. The default is 1600 mm; adjust it so the calculated values approximately match the elliptical console. Accepted values are 100–3000 mm. A CSC based elliptical session can also prompt for confirmation before starting.
These values affect derived speed and distance. They do not recalibrate measurements that a machine sends directly through FTMS.
Kayak First
Panel slots 1–5
Each slot chooses a metric to show on a compatible physical Kayak First console. Options include elapsed time, distance, average or instantaneous speed, stroke rate, 200 m/500 m/1000 m pace, force, energy, and power. The defaults are elapsed time, total distance, average stroke rate, average 1000 m pace, and total energy.
Choose the five console readouts you want before connecting. Changes take effect the next time Kayak First setup runs; reconnect if the console is already configured. These options control the physical console layout, not which workout measurements FitBridge can decode or share downstream.
Life Fitness
Some Life Fitness machines need a rider profile during their setup handshake before they send workout data. Complete the following fields before connecting. If FitBridge asks for missing details during connection, open Settings, fill them in, then reconnect.
First name, last name, and email address
All three must contain text for the setup handshake. FitBridge trims surrounding spaces and limits each field to 64 characters. It checks that the email field is present but does not validate its format. These values are sent to the Life Fitness machine during setup and are excluded from diagnostic logs. The machine may retain the profile values it receives.
Gender
Choose Male, Female, or Prefer not to say for the Life Fitness profile. This field has a default and does not block setup when unchanged. The machine may use the profile along with weight, height, and age for its workout calculations.
The Life Fitness profile fields are sent only to a recognized Life Fitness setup service, not to other machine families. If setup fails, check the required fields and reconnect.
